Dr. Burguete graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2003. Since then, she has been on a journey to find a high-quality, progressive practice to call home. She strives to provide compassionate and high-quality care to each and every patient through offering a variety of treatment options, including alternative medicine.
Dr. Burguete is now excited to offer Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) for dogs and cats, which includes acupuncture and herbal therapy. Dr. Burguete trained at the Chi Institute of TCVM and will continue to enhance her knowledge in this area as a veterinarian.
Acupuncture is most commonly used for musculoskeletal problems and pain relief but also can be used to treat various disease conditions, including, but not limited to, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, neurologic disorders, and geriatric conditions. Acupuncture therapy is frequently combined with Chinese Herbal Medicine for maximum effect.
Dr. Burguete prefers to use an integrated approach for most patients, incorporating western diagnostics and medications and providing treatments using both traditional (western) and alternative (eastern) treatments. Dr. Burguete is happy to discuss the treatment options available and will work with owners to provide the best possible treatment for each pet.
