Oak Creek Veterinary Care has been closely monitoring the evolving situation with the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) and the impact it may have on our clients, the pets we care for, and the OCVC team members. We are using guidelines from national, state, and local authorities to assist with our decisions in how we can provide a continuance of care for your pets while being responsible and supportive of the efforts to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We have the following modifications to the way we will provide services. These modifications will be in effect beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and will continue until further notice.

Business hours
We will strive to continue our normal business hours and will notify you ASAP if any changes need to take place.

Social distancing
Scheduled appointments: Just you and your pet—only ONE adult per appointment; no one else can accompany you and your pet into the hospital. If you are not comfortable entering the hospital due to personal health concerns, please call prior to your appointment and a member of our staff will bring a properly leashed/kenneled pet into the hospital for you. You may remain in your vehicle available for phone consultation and payment.

Medication and/or food pickup
All of these items should be ordered and prepaid with a credit card prior to coming to the hospital. Then call from our parking lot and a staff member will bring items to your vehicle. There is no need to enter the hospital.

Home delivery
This is also a great time to make use of our online pharmacy so that home delivery can occur at no charge. Please call the clinic to help us facilitate that for you.

COVID-19 and ill owners
As recommended by DHS, if you are experiencing symptoms of a respiratory illness, or exposure is suspected or confirmed, please follow DHS quarantine or isolation guidelines. Should your pet need to be seen, you may designate an adult, 18 years or older, to bring your pet to OCVC, as long as you are available for a phone consultation. If someone who is ill needs to bring a pet to OCVC, we ask that you remain in your vehicle for the entire visit and be available by phone.

Personal safety
Handwashing/sanitizing: While in the OCVC facility, we have three hand sanitizer stations available for clients and sinks for hand washing in every exam room.

Waiting room
Please call from your vehicle to let us know you have arrived and we will have a staff member escort you to your private exam room immediately, rather than having anyone sitting in a communal waiting room.

Processing of payments
We will make every effort to process any payments in the exam room and then escort clients out of the building to minimize contact with others.

Sanitization of facility
While our OCVC team has always made every effort to provide a clean, safe facility, our staff will be enhancing those efforts throughout our hospital.
