The week of October 11-17th is Vet Technician and Reception Appreciation Week! Here at OCVC, we value our reliable staff and would like to take a moment to say thank you for all they have done!

Veterinary technicians are a crucial part of every veterinary clinic, and their hard work should never be overlooked. They are, without a doubt, the unsung heroes of this profession. Whether it’s a basic vaccination appointment or waking up from a long surgery, our technicians are the first line of care for your pet and are always there to comfort them in a snap. It’s not the most glamouous profession, as they often go home smelling of skin infection and anal glands, but being there to make your pet feel comfortable and ease their pain is their passion! Without them, all the extra attention and affection your pets receive while in office wouldn’t be possible.

Veterinary receptionists also play a large part in our clinics opperation. They are the first point of contact when calling for an appointment or emergency. They’re there to ensure your pets needs are tended to in a timely manner and to ensure your mesages to your veterinarian are relayed correctly. We consider all calls to be important, but our receptionists are there to screen each and every one to be sure they get directed to the right area for assistance. They are also there to keep track of the schedules and be sure your pets get scheduled appropriately for their needs.

This week, please take the time to thank your veterinary staff. Without them, your fur babies wouldn’t be able to receive accurate and affectionate care. They chose this profession because this is their pasion, and they will do everything they can to make your pets life worth while!
