OCVC management and staff would like to take a moment to discuss with you that many of the trends in price increases we see elsewhere in our lives are also affecting OCVC. We would like to remind everyone that we are an independently owned small animal practice, not a corporate-owned facility like many others in the veterinary and pet suppliers’ community. We, like many small businesses, encourage everyone to seek services and goods from local entities, such as OCVC.

We would like you to be aware of several things as we provide excellent care for your pet:

  1. Buy local! We are doing our best to be competitive or beat online pricing for commonly used medications and heartworm and flea and tick prevention!
  2. When purchased directly from the clinic, many of these products come with guarantees for effectiveness and taste (palatability) as well as rebates that do not apply if you do not purchase from a brick and mortar location. Additional reasons this is so important:
    • Convenience: As a local client, you can pick prescriptions as you pass by—or better yet, at the time of your appointment!
    • If you are further away, consider using OCVC’s online pharmacies. We can send the prescription directly from your pet’s medical record and you will get an email to go directly to your prescription.
  3. We are always happy to provide estimates at the time of your appointment for services and products your pet needs for their care so you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.
